Success Story of CGHS Sangla

My name is Shazia Tabassam, and I belong to a very poor family. We were twelve members living in a very small rented house. My father was a laborer who worked tirelessly every day to meet our basic needs, earning 500 rupees daily by working 12-hour shifts. Despite his hard work, we could barely afford one meal a day. My mother also worked as a maid. Both my parents faced immense difficulties in fulfilling our needs, but they still dreamt of giving us education.

As the eldest daughter, I always wanted to support my family. Whenever I saw other children going to school, I would dream of going too, and often tears would fill my eyes. However, I would pray for a miracle, hoping that one day our lives would change. That miracle happened when my mother met the principal of CGHS Sangla Hill School at a church meeting. God answered our prayers. The principal gave my mother a glimpse of hope for our future.

With PEB’s unwavering support, I joined CGHS Sangla in 1993 as a 5th-grade student. What followed was a beautiful journey of learning, growth, and dreams taking shape. Thanks to the generosity of PEB and its donors, we received the financial support that made it all possible. I proudly completed my matriculation in 1998, carrying with me not just an education but a lifetime of gratitude for the chance to rise above hardships and embrace a brighter tomorrow.

This support was a life-changing miracle. PEB transformed our lives. My five younger sisters and I received scholarships and completed our education at CGHS Sangla Hill School. Today, we are all working as registered nurses in different hospitals, supporting our parents and living successful lives. All of this was made possible by the unwavering support of PEB and its generous donors.

Nasima Haroon

Success Story of CGHS Martinpur

My name is Nasima Haroon, and I come from a small village called Martinpur. I have four younger siblings two brothers and two sisters. My father was a farmer, and my mother was a housewife. We lived in my aunt’s house because my father’s income was not enough to even have a house for us. One day, while working in the fields, my father had a heart attack. He had already been diagnosed with diabetes and hypertension but couldn’t afford proper medication. After the heart attack, he could no longer work and my uncle could not manage to afford a big family. Eventually, he asked us to leave his house. We spent a cold winter night on the streets without food and warm clothes. It was the most miserable time in our lives, and we prayed to God for help.

The next morning, while we were still on the road near CGHS Martinpur, my parents met a security guard and asked if he could provide us with some food. The security guard, a man of faith, took my parents to the school principal. My mother shared our family’s heartbreaking story with the principal, who showed great sympathy. She offered my mother a job as a cook at the school, and my mother accepted it gratefully. They also provided us with shelter, and we thanked God for this kindness.

In 2003, my mother enrolled me and my siblings in CGHS Martinpur in nursery class. I was a bright student, and my teachers and the principal supported me with a scholarship. I completed my Matric in 2015. I am deeply thankful to PEB and the generous donors who helped shape my future. Today, I work as a staff nurse at Family Care Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

When I look back at my journey, tears filled my eyes. I remember the days of hunger, the struggles my parents endured, and how close we came to losing hope. CGHS Martinpur and PEB changed my life. They gave me the chance to rise above my circumstances, and for that, I will always be grateful, first to God and then to donors

This journey has taught me that no matter how hard life gets, with faith, hard work, and the right support, miracles can happen.

Alisha Basharat

Success Story of CGHS Sargodha

My name is Alisha Basharat, and I am the eldest of three siblings. My father works as an electrician from home, but he doesn’t earn enough. My mother works as a maid, and it is very difficult for us to pay the rent for our small rented house. Because of our financial struggles, my parents are under constant stress. My father, in particular, suffers from depression because he cannot find a proper job.

When my younger brother was just six years old, he worked at a bicycle shop opposite CGHS Sargodha and even he had also set up a stall outside the school, selling food items and snacks.

One day, he fainted, and many people gathered around to see what had happened. The admin officer from CGHS Sargodha noticed and asked my father why he was making such a young child work. My father explained that he could not afford school fees. Moved by my family’s struggles, the admin officer shared our story with the school authorities. That was the time when my father decided to enroll us in school.

In 2017 I was enrolled in CGHS Sargodha as a 5th-grade student. Surrounded by hope and encouragement, I worked hard and proudly completed my matriculation in 2022 a milestone I once thought was out of reach.

Over time, with God’s help, all my siblings were able to attend CGHS Sargodha. I remained a top student and received scholarships throughout my academic years. After graduating, I was accepted into a well-known university in Sargodha, where I am now studying BS Psychology (1^st Semester). Ever since I was young, I wanted to study psychology because I saw the stress and depression that my father faced due to poverty. I wanted to help others who experience similar struggles, and now, I am working to support others as well.
