Solomon Standard School was started under the leadership of the school`s first headmistress, Miss Hakim Khan, in 1952. It started as a co-educational nursery school and was later upgraded to a middle school and eventually a high school. In 1993, the school was registered with the government of Pakistan and the first group of 15 science students appeared for the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Examination, Rawalpindi. The school is co-educational up to Class 5, but has only boys in Classes 6-10.
Message from Vice Principal
At Solomon Standard High School for Boys, we believe that every student can learn and find a level of success. We seek to educate our students in an environment that embodies our core values of self-discipline, integrity, tolerance, and respect for others and that is conducive to student learning and development. The small class sizes at the school mean that all students receive the individual attention needed for them to achieve their full potential. Teachers participate in on-going staff development programs, which keeps them up-to-date on new teaching methodologies and new curriculum resources.
The importance of co-curricular activities is stressed and all students are encouraged to participate in the variety of activities offered, including inter-class debates, poetry and essay writing competitions, drama and sport. The school also participates in the inter-school competitions run by the Presbyterian Education Board.
We want parents to be involved in their children’s education, so regular Parent-Teacher meetings are held to discuss students’ progress. We will continue to work as a team of students, teachers and parents, together with the Presbyterian Education Board personnel, as we encourage our students to grow in confidence, achieve academic excellence, and gain social skills in order to become successful at whatever they attempt, as they move through the school and into further education or professional training.
